The successful candidate will assume a leading role in the Computer Vision, Imaging and Machine Intelligence (CVI2) Research Group, working closely with Prof. Djamila Aouada and the members of CVI2. The candidate will work on defining, acquiring, managing, and scientifically contributing to projects in the areas of expertise of CVI2. The group is engaged in a number of industrial, national and European projects. It manages two well-equipped laboratories, and multiple international challenges with unique datasets at top-tier conferences (CVPR, ECCV, ICIP).

The successful candidate will be responsible of:

  • Collaborating with the Head of the CVI2 Research Group in ensuring the success of the group’s mission
  • Shaping research directions and producing results.
  • Proposal writing including national and European calls.
  • Disseminating results through scientific publications.
  • Attracting industrial funding and liaising with industrial partners.
  • Coordinating research projects and delivering outputs.
  • Supervising PhD students.
  • Organizing relevant workshops and demonstrations.
  • Participating in teaching activities.
Your Profile…
  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of postdoc experience in a relevant research area.
  • Documented research expertise in Computer Vision and Machine Learning, with a focus in one or multiple of the following topics: calibration, reconstruction, Structure from Motion, data completion, shape representation, body/face/gesture modelling, CAD data analysis, data fusion, neural rendering, domain adaptation, transfer learning, anomaly detection.
  • Proven track record in carrying a leading role in research project acquisition and project management.
  • Experience in research collaboration with industrial partners.
  • Experience in supporting PhD candidates in their research.
  • Publications at top-tier computer vision and machine learning venues.
  • Strong development skills in Python/C++.
  • Strong mathematical background.
  • Broad experience with machine learning algorithms and deep learning concepts.
  • Commitment, team work and a critical mind.
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory.
