The Leibniz Institute of Polymer Research Dresden is a non-university research institute and a member of the Leibniz Association. Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d)

The position is fully funded through a Exploration Grant of the Boehringer Ingelheim Foundation (BIS). The project aims at developing colorimetric sensing approaches based on hybrid polymer/plasmonic nanoparticles toward their implementation in point-of-action diagnostics.

Task description: Synthesis and characterization of polymers with defined architectures; synthesis and characterization of gold nanoparticles; functionalization of gold nanoparticles with polymer ligands and analyte recognition units; investigation of the polymer ligand shell morphology; investigation of analyte-induced colorimetric responses.

Requirements:

-PhD degree in Chemistry, Nanoscience, Materials Science, or in a related field.  

-Experience in macromolecular synthesis, polymer characterization, and colloid characterization.

-Desire to work on an interdisciplinary research project.

-Ability to work independently and within an international research team.

Salary:                 According to German pay grade TV-L EG 13

Terms:                   40 weekly hours (full time)

Contract:             1 years

Starting date:      Oct 2022 or by appointment
