Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual for a PhD position in the field of Distributed, Cooperative and Intelligent Systems. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and interdisciplinary research team, exploring novel approaches for designing and implementing decentralized systems that can effectively coordinate and cooperate to achieve common goals. The research will involve both theoretical and practical aspects of distributed algorithms, machine learning, communicative systems and more.

The successful candidate will join the UBIX Research Group, led by Prof. Raphaël Frank.

The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks:

  • Carrying out research in the predefined areas
  • Disseminating research results through scientific publications
  • Participating in proposal drafting
  • Participating in teaching activities
  • Assisting in organization of relevant events
Your Profile

Qualification: The candidate should hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with a strong background in these areas.

Experience: The ideal candidate should have some knowledge and/or experience in a number of the following topics (ordered by importance):

  • Machine learning
  • Data Analytics & Statistics
  • Communicative Systems
  • Embedded systems
  • Distributed systems

Strong analytical and programming skills are required (Python and C/C++). Prior proven experience in data-driven innovation projects is an asset. Most importantly, you should be curiosity driven and willing to constantly learn new things!

Language Skills: Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are required. French, German or Luxembourgish is a plus.
