As a lecturer / assistant professor, you are devoted to, and have the relevant background needed, to educate students in the rigorous application of advanced methods and statistics for consumer behavior and marketing, and you are eager to make scientific and societal contributions. The focus of our teaching is to train students to develop research projects where they are able to solve real-life problems by applying theories; collecting and analyzing data related to marketing and consumer behavior. The successful applicant will make an essential contribution to this development, and is given the opportunity to attain the nationally recognized Dutch university teaching qualification.

Your qualities

We are looking for a person who fits this team. This means that you are a team player who is motivated to advance the group’s research and education, while at the same time grasping the opportunity to build your own education and research portfolio. 

Your Qualities
The ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualities:

  • A good to excellent knowledge of various research and statistical methods;
  • A PhD degree (or planned defense date) in marketing, consumer behaviour, psychology, statistics or related area;
  • Affinity with consumer behavior, psychology and/or marketing science;
  • Affinity with societally relevant science on topics such as sustainability, health, food and agribusiness;
  • An interest in student-focused teaching;
  • Excellent English language proficiency (a minimum of CEFR C2 level). For more information about this proficiency level, please visit our special language page;
  • Knowledge of Dutch language and previous teaching experience will be valued.

Wageningen University & Research offers excellent terms of employment. Our Collective Labour Agreement includes, among others:

  • study leave, and partially paid parental leave;
  • working hours that can be discussed and arranged so that they allow for the best possible work-life balance;
  • the option to accrue additional compensation / holiday hours by working more, up to 40 hours per week;

  • a fixed December bonus of 8.3%;

In addition to the first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. Depending on your experience, we offer a competitive gross salary of between €2.960 and €6.181 for a full-time working week of 38 hours, in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreements for Dutch Universities (CAO-NU) (scale 10 – 12). Initially, we offer you a two-year contract, which will then be extended to an open-ended contract if there is mutual enthusiasm.
