We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to join our Operations Team within Disability Support Services.
As part of the Operations team, you will provide professional, confidential, proactive, and flexible administrative support to the wider Disability Support Services Team, receiving and responding to internal and external queries, working in a busy and dynamic environment with other administrative colleagues.
You will have:
- Significant administrative experience, excellent communication, and people skills as well as strong organisation and accuracy skills.
- Extensive level of IT skills, including MS Office suite (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams).
- Ability to provide and maintain a high level of customer service, whilst working to deadlines, within established procedures to agreed quality standards with minimum day to day supervision.
- Independence, initiative, and a flexible approach to work, to react to changing priorities and work circumstances and the motivation to work collaboratively with colleagues.
- Reliability and the willingness and adaptability to learn new skills and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of a range of disabilities and their impact upon study in Higher Education.
What you will do:
You will manage your time to:
- Provide professional, confidential, proactive, and flexible administrative support to the wider team and provide information and advice concerning all aspects of accessibility provision to potential students prior to their admission to university and during their studies.
- Receive and respond to internal and external queries, via a generic mailbox, phone calls and student drop-ins, providing advice and resolving both simple and complex issues.
- Assess the disability/learning difference evidence provided by students, both current and potential, to create a standard support plan for reasonable adjustments.
- Identify areas for continuous improvements, within processes, to minimise disruptions to our operations and the student experience and to improve our service.
Where and how you’ll work:
We have two roles available; both are permanent positions. One role is full time (36.25 hours per week), and the other role is part time (21.75 hours per week). Arrangements for job share may be considered. Please specify, in your application, which role you are applying for.
We are based on University Park and offer flexible working across the working week with some time spent on campus and some time spent working from home.
