Applications are invited for the above post to provide technical research support to clinical and non-clinical academics based in the School of Medicine at the Royal Derby Hospital Centre. The postholder will join a team of academics carrying out translational research in human health and disease across a broad range of disciplines and will primarily provide support and training for clinical measurements (i.e., ultrasound, ECG, venepuncture) in human research. The postholder will also support aspects related to the day-to-day running of research labs, working closely with research teams and technical colleagues to ensure a safe, effective environment. The postholder will also have responsibility for maintaining records of training, risk assessments and standard operating procedures, and adhering to relevant statutory requirements (i.e., the Human Tissue Act). 

The research labs at the Royal Derby Hospital Centre are the base for a wealth of collaborative research between the University of Nottingham and University Hospitals Derby and Burton NHS Foundation, including in the areas of vascular, renal, paediatric, and metabolic medicine. The postholder will facilitate this collaborative research through their clinical measurement support.

The postholder will be expected to have a minimum of two A Levels in relevant subjects or an equivalent vocational quantification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guild), plus some experience in a relevant role.

This position is offered on a permanent basis. Hours are full time (36.25 hours per week). Job share arrangements may be considered.
