The University of Luxembourg (Uni.lu) is seeking to hire a postdoctoral researcher within the Department of Engineering of the Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Régis HADJI-MINAGLOU.

The role of the postdoc is to contribute to design with the experts of the partner Company, a high-power electrical drive for the application to hybrid agricultural tractors and heavy-duty vehicles.

Your Role…

The postdoc will conduct the following tasks:

  • Provide dedicated application support to the industrial project through benchmarking, design optimization, energy-efficient solution, and practical validation on laboratory setup
  • Perform cutting research and education tasks in the fields of electrical engineering
  • Provide high-level support to internal PhD research projects and to the external industrial partner
  • Collaborate with the Technology Transfer Office on the skills and technology access framework
  • Participate in the research, education, and training activities: Bachelor, Master, and PhD programs
  • Writing funding demands and scientific articles in the field of high-power electrical drives
What we expect from you…
  • PhD degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree
  • Advanced Know-How in Finite Elements Modelling & Calculation Software for the application to electrical motors
  • Experience in a research environment
  • Experience with the industry is a plus
  • Great communication skills
  • Understanding and implementation of project management best practices. In particular, the ability to manage multiple projects under strict timelines as well as the ability to work well in a demanding, dynamic environment and meet overall objectives
  • Commitment, team working, interpersonal skills, and a critical mind
  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory. The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context, therefore knowledge in at least one of the two official languages of Luxembourg (French or German) is an asset
