MUI2095Y – Capstone Course: All students in the program will complete a capstone course in their second year that will draw upon the academic background and training provided in both their core and elective courses, as well as the practical experience gained through their summer internship to analyze a key problem or challenge in economic development and provide both the analytical and governance components of an integrated solution to the problem. The focus of the projects will be on demonstrating integration, application, and innovation skills to address challenges in managing the process of urban development. 1511-Sept 2022 to31 Dec -2022 This course it IN PERSON inFall 2022Ph.D. (Geography, planning, political science or related field) preferred or relevant/equivalent industry experience  All normal duties related to the design, teaching and delivery of a University credit course including: Weekly lectures or workshops. Meeting with students to guide/advise them on their capstone project and assignments. Holding weekly office hours. Marking/evaluating all student assignments; recording student attendance; recording and submitting grades; and communicating with students on course related matters. Supervising and monitoring student team progress on their capstone projects. Ensure student records and Quercus site are maintained and provided to the regular Faculty instructor for the Winter term. Design course content, schedule and assignments in close consultation with Program Director, faculty, and staff. This includes but is not limited to identifying and scoping student capstone projects with external clients, as well as coordinating with the Employer and External Relations Manager regarding professional development activities. Liaise with potential clients, Program Director, and Employer & External Relations Manager regarding course content and curriculum. Begin to organize a capstone final presentation/showcase event with support from the Employer & External Relations Manager. Note that while the capstone course is a full-year course, this posting is for the Fall term only. The Winter term will be taught by a regular faculty instructor. Therefore, it is expected that the successful candidate will work closely with the Winter term instructor to ensure that there is a seamless transition between instructors.  $8489.67as per CUPE3902 Unit 3CollectiveAgreement(includes 4%vacation pay)– Pay listed isbased onranking ofSessionalLecturer I.
