Job description
To expand our team we are looking for an enthusiastic Diplomate of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (Dipl. ECVDI/ACVR) or fully trained resident. We are looking for an ambitious new colleague who seeks an academic career.
You will be involved in the diagnostic imaging of referred clinical cases and provide a high-quality service to clients and referring veterinarians. Since we are an academic veterinary center, on top of this you will be involved in training residents and veterinary students. Off-clinics time and enrolment in research can be discussed as part of the position.
You will join an energetic and collegiate team consisting of board-certified radiologists, residents, and a highly trained and capable technical staff. You will be an important member of our team and will contribute significantly to the clinical service and related education for residents and students, including radiography, ultrasonography, CT, MR, nuclear medicine and fluoroscopy. Approximately 9,000 imaging procedures are performed on companion animals and horses annually.
Qualifications
You are a motivated team player with outstanding communication skills. Dutch language skills are not required since we are used to international staff.
Offer
We offer a permanent position (full-time or part-time), initially starting with a contract of 12 months to get to know each other. The gross salary – depending on previous qualifications and experience – ranges between €2,846 and €5,943 (scale 10 and 11/12 according to the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) per month for a full-time employment. As an expat you will also get 30% off from government tax-rules for the first five years!

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
has a unique position in the Netherlands. Not only is this the only institution where veterinarians are trained, but is also where researchers are working together on innovative scientific research. In addition, the faculty provides specialist clinical care in the largest academic veterinary hospital in Europe. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Utrecht University is the only such institute in the Netherlands. It carries an excellent worldwide reputation for teaching, research and patient care. The Department of Clinical Sciences is part of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and includes a fully-equipped academic veterinary teaching hospital, the ‘Universitair Dierenziekenhuis Utrecht’. The university clinic boasts a large fully equipped companion animal hospital with six ORs, an ECVECC-run ICU and a medium care unit, with busy medical and various surgical services. Immediately neighboring the companion animal clinic, the university complex houses a busy equine hospital with more than 100 box stalls, an OR suite with four ORs, a 24/7 neonatal foal ICU (in season) and a 24/7 emergency referral clinic as well as an ambulatory equine service. Our diagnostic imaging department is situated in the middle of these two clinics and supports both equine and companion animal services.
