At Aalborg University Business School, The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, a number of full time positions as Associate Professor in Business Models are available from 1. November 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Aalborg University Business School is a newly established business school at Aalborg University, a science and technology focused university with world-class research in a number of disciplines. Aalborg University is a founding institution in Problem-Based Learning and with this as a guiding principle, the Business School plays a major role in bridging the gap between business and science that helps commercialize inventions and generate growth in businesses. The prerequisite for this is relevant research of the highest quality. We have a strategy of publishing our research in leading journals in our fields. We take current trends and issues into account in all the knowledge we produce. Only then can we contribute with business-critical insights that make a difference for society.

We are looking for an Associate Professor to lead our current research projects related to mapping the business models of companies that AAUBS currently collaborates with, as well as leading the entrepreneurship-oriented programs such as the New Venture Creation program that links into Aalborg University’s business incubator activities. Aalborg University is renowned for its corporate engagement and collaborations. The business school is currently structuring and systematising its analyses of these companies to create more robust and longitudinal data on business design and business growth. The right Associate Professor for this position has a good research track record that shows good team skills. Some knowledge of external funding is also an advantage. Still, the most crucial aspect here is an understanding of what companies are looking for in terms of value from collaborations with the business school’s faculty and students. You are used to taking responsibility and comfortable in leading activities independently. As the research and teaching in business models and entrepreneurship draw in many different colleagues, you should be comfortable coordinating activities and having many projects “up in the air” simultaneously.
