At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of the Built Environment one position as Research Assistant in the Traffic Research Group is open for appointment from 1 September 2022 or soon hereafter (physical workplace in Aalborg). The Department of the Built Environment focuses on the technical and scientific disciplines within the built environment, where focus is on innovation, knowledge sharing and interdisciplinary collaborations. The position is available for a period of one year with possibility of extension.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The working areas of the Research Assistant will be assistance in Traffic research group project in the field of road traffic safety.

The Research Assistant is going to work with several research projects related to self-reporting of traffic crashes among insurance takers, patients in the emergency room and also randomly selected Danes. The self-reports are obtained through use of a questionnaire survey. The self-reports will be applied in the prevention of new traffic crashes in collaboration with municipalities, police and road authorities.

Experience within survey methods is necessary. Good communication skills are required in writing together with good collaboration skills.

Qualification requirements:
The required level of qualifications is at master level in either engineering, sociology or other field not necessarily related to traffic.

Appointment to Research Assistant may be for a period of up to three years. Reappointment may be made, but a Research Assistant can only be appointed to Research Assistant for a period of maximum three years. Employment is in accordance with the Ministerial Order on the Appointment of Academic Staff at Universities (the Appointment Order) and the Ministry of Finance’s current Job Structure for Academic Staff at Universities. Employment and salary are in accordance with the collective agreement for state-employed academics.
