The Soft Robotics for human cooperation and rehabilitation (SoftBots) Research Line of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia is seeking for two (2) highly motivated, Fellow researchers (holding a master degree). The SoftBots Lab is known for its cutting-edge research in the areas of collaborative robotics, human-robot interaction and collaboration and assistive robotics.
The successful candidates will work on a project linked to the ERC Synergy Grant Natural BionicS (Grant Agreement No. 810346), which deals with the development of the latest-generation bionic prostheses, combining robotics, software and surgery, in order to obtain “natural” limbs to be connected to the central nervous system.
Natural Bionics Partners are the following: Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IT), Imperial College of Science Technology and Medicine (UK), Medizinische Universitaet Wien (AUT).
Required qualifications:
• Master degree in mechatronics, robotics and control or related fields.
• Good communication skills and ability to integrate within a multidisciplinary team.
• Creative, proactive and collaborative attitude.
• English language skills (written and oral).
Desired qualifications:
- Knowledge of control tools, e.g. Matlab, Simulink.
- Knowledge of C++ and ROS programming.
- Experience with F/T sensors, surface EMG sensors.
- Data acquisition, e.g. with I/O boards or motion capture systems.
- Knowledge of CAD system for robotic design (e.g. Creo).
