Course description:
Students will explore the major CNS neurological syndromes, examples include pain, epilepsy, the sleep-wake cycle and relate neurological abnormalities. Lectures will discuss major classes of drugs used to mitigate and treat these disorder, their mechanisms of action, clinical use and unwanted effects. This course was previously offered as PCL475Y1.

Salary: SL1: $8,489.67, SL1 LT: $8,869.25, SL2: $9,085.58, SL3: $9,301.90 (rates reflect remuneration for teaching 0.5 FCE)

Qualifications: Completion of PhD or equivalent in Pharmacology or related field. The individual will have excellent knowledge of neuropharmacology research (specifically with a focus on epilepsy) and undergraduate student mentoring experience. The ideal candidate will be experience in project management and is comfortable learning new online management tools (Quercus), in mentoring and working with faculty and undergraduate students.
Description of duties:
· Acting as Course Coordinator as required with online tools and platforms, ensuring smooth administration of course
· Setting up and managing course learning management (Quercus)- including uploading lectures, responding to student questions, developing student assessment and ensuring day- day operations
· Meeting students regularly for online or in person tutorial session as required
· Developing and providing lecturers as needed and attending in- person lecture classes
· Manage and collate with the development, distribution and grading of course assessments
· Grading, as required and mentoring students on class assessment (exams and/or assignments)
· Creating and developing material related to the course assignment
