Course description: Knowledge translation (KT) “is defined as a dynamic and iterative process that includes synthesis, dissemination, exchange and ethically-sound application of knowledge to improve the health of Canadians, provide more effective health services and products and strengthen the health care system” (CIHR 2000, 2010).
“This process takes place within a complex system of interactions between researchers and knowledge users which may vary in intensity, complexity and level of engagement depending on the nature of the research and the findings as well as the needs of the particular knowledge user” (Graham, 2010).
Estimated course enrollment: ~ 30 students
Estimated TA support: not applicable
Class schedule: 2-hour seminar-style workshops; occurring Wednesdays
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2022 – December 31, 2022
Salary:
Sessional Lecturer I – $2,122.42
Sessional Lecturer I – Long Term – $2,217.31
Sessional Lecturer II – $2,271.39
Sessional Lecturer III – $2,325.47

Minimum qualifications: PhD with equivalent professional and/or academic experience is preferred.
Description of duties: Preparation and delivery of course content, including lectures and/or seminars; creation of courseware; the development and administration of assignments, tests and examinations; marking and grading of student work and the submission of grades to appropriate University officials, maintenance of reasonable hours of student contact outside of scheduled contact hours.
