The Department of Astronomy at Stockholm University has about 80 employees. The main research areas are; Supernovae, Galaxies, Computational astrophysics, Solar physics and Planet and star formation. We now seek to hire a research assistant on a short-term contract on modelling star formation in the early Universe. The research assistant will work in Professor Garrelt Mellema’s research group.
Main responsibilities
The research assistant will rewrite the results of a research rapport on the modelling of star formation in early galaxies into one or more publishable research articles. The research assistant will work on this with Professor Garrelt Mellema. The candidate is further expected to participate actively in departmental and group activities at the department.
Qualification requirements
We are looking for someone who is a student at the Master’s level in physics/astronomy. Experience with advanced mathematical analysis, physical modelling, and programming is desired. Effective writing skills in general and academic English are required.
Terms of employment
This is a full-time position for a period of four months. The starting date is negotiable. Salaries at Stockholm University are determined individually; therefore, please indicate your requested salary.
