in the field of Data Science & Social Media Analysis
The position is part of the externally funded project “Community-Based Fact-Checking on Social Media” and is to be filled on a fixed-term basis in accordance with § 2 WissZeitVG and § 72 HHG with the opportunity for own academic qualification at theChair of Data Science and Digitization at the Faculty of Business and Economics. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H).
As long as the maximum permissible duration of a fixed-term contract is not exceeded, you will be employed for a period of 3 years.
Your tasks at a glance
- Carry out scientific research in the above-mentioned research project (esp. quantitative analysis of social media data)
- Publish your research results in international outlets
- Present your research results at international conferences
The provision of academic services (including the processing of a research project financed by third party funds on a temporary basis) also serves the purpose of academic qualification.
Your qualifications and competences
- Completed Master‘s or equivalent university degree in one of the following areas (or a related area): Data Science, Information Systems, Business / Economics, Computer Science, Computational Social Science
- Strong interest in research in the field of Data Science and (quantitative) social media analysis
- Methodological competence in the field of Data Science (e.g., data preprocessing, statistical modeling, text mining, machine learning)
- Intrinsic motivation and able to work self-responsibly
- Existing programming experience (e.g., in R, Python)
- Very good command of the English language
