The Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology of the Bernhard Nocht Institute of Tropical Medicine is looking for a highly motivated 

Student Assistant / Project Manager (m/f/d)

for a study on the assessment of the German contribution to the research on

Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs)

The study aims to systematically investigate activities and further possibilities of German institutions in research on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) and the development of diagnostics, drugs and vaccines. For this purpose, the study will be conducted in cooperation with 30-40 scientists who are leaders in NTD research in Germany. The planned study will provide policymakers and stakeholders with a survey that outlines the current status in the field of NTD research in Germany, and aims to increase exchange and cooperation.

The assistant will support the project coordination of the interdisciplinary consortium as well as the methodological implementation of the study. This includes the conduction of systematic literature reviews and social network analysis approaches, as well as communication and close coordination with the participating scientists and health policy actors.

Your profile:

  • Student (m/f/d) – background in health policy, sociology, health sciences, cognitive sciences, medical technology, epidemiology or a related field
  • Strong interest in interdisciplinary research in the context of health policy in Germany in the field of global health
  • Excellent communication skills in interdisciplinary project teams
  • First experience and strong interest in social network analyses
  • Strong EVD skills, experience with tools for data visualization
  • Proven knowledge in scientific systematic literature research and tools for literature management
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Starting date will be as soon as possible. The position is limited to 6 months with the possibility of extension. Home office or remote work (from Germany) based on agreement.
