The Protein Data Bank in Europe (PDBe; pdbe.org) is a founding partner of the Worldwide Protein Data Bank organisation (wwPDB; wwpdb.org), which maintains the PDB, the global archive of 3D structural data on biomacromolecules. The PDBe team further maintains a number of databases that support deposition and advanced search and analysis services for structural biologists and the wider scientific community. The team consists of an international and inter-disciplinary mix of professionals (scientists and IT specialists).

Your role

We are looking to recruit an expert structural biologist or bioinformatician with strong structural biology background and familiarity with scripting to join the PDBe curation team.

High-quality curation of new depositions is essential for PDB and EMDB to remain the authoritative global sources of biomacromolecular structure information. The work involves annotating preliminary PDB and EMDB submissions and extracting relevant biological information. PDBe staff annotates more than a third of all PDB and EMDB depositions worldwide. The work will also involve analysis of structure data and enriching PDBe tools and services. The data curators also participate in developing training material and delivery of workshops and in outreach activities.Apply now
