What will you be doing?

As administrator, you will follow established processes to provide high quality support to students and academics across the University. Please see the job description / role profile form for further details of the activities you will undertake.

You would work in a role in one of the following teams:

Assessments Team

The Assessment Team is responsible for the administration of assessment and awards. The scope of the team includes formal examinations, including processing of exam papers, scheduling and invigilation; support for coursework submissions and other forms of assessment which take place outside of the formal examination periods; policy and practice for adjustment of assessment according to student need or extenuating circumstance; marks processing; reporting for assessment boards; publication of results; progression and award and production of degree certificates and transcripts.  

Placements, Mobility, Partners and Visas – Global Opportunities Team 

The Global Opportunities team focuses on incoming and outgoing exchange students from partner universities, the movement of students between the UK campus and international campuses in China and Malaysia and the drafting and signing of student exchange and partnership agreements with external partners by working closely with colleagues at the University of Nottingham in Malaysia and China, UK Admissions team and the UK Visas and Immigration team to admit students to the UK campus. 

Placements, Mobility, Partners and Visas – Visa and Immigration Team

The Visa and Immigration team provide visa and immigration support for applicants, current students and their families and recent graduates. Our team provides free, professional support relating to student visa applications as well as advice on other visa and immigration issues. The work of the Visa and Immigration team spans the whole student journey from admission to graduation and onwards to post study work in the UK.
 Alongside immigration advice, the team are responsible for managing the immigration compliance responsibilities associated with maintaining the University sponsor licence.  Team members have designated areas of compliance on which they lead.

Work patterns may fall between 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. Most of our vacancies are permanent, full-time posts (36.25 hours); however, applications from candidates wishing to work less than full time (to a minimum of 29 hours per week) will be considered. Job share applications may also be considered. Please specify in your application if you wish to work less than full time and the number of preferred hours.

Our current policy is that 60% of working hours are carried out from Campus.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 4th October 2023 and as part of the interview process, you will undertake a short skills assessment. Interview expenses will not be paid.
