Salary: £57,696 to £70,897 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

We are seeking two Associate Directors to be responsible for the strategic leadership of services for assessments.  Leading collaboratively, the Associate Directors provide strategic leadership to the team, deliver and continuously improve assessment processes in accordance with policy and regulations.  Successful candidates will have specialist expertise, a commitment to excellence in customer service, and demonstrable experience in developing people to achieve their potential.

The university is focused on enhancement of the student experience and assessment and is investing in the development of systems and new ways of working.  The university is large, diverse and complex.  The Associate Directors will work across the university to simplify and appropriately automate assessment processes and facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to deliver an excellent assessment experience for students.  

The Assessment Team of c.80 members is co-led by two Associate Directors who provide strategic oversight and lead service delivery from engagement in assessment to results, progression and award.  As both Associate Directors are being appointed at the same time, we will work with successful candidates to shape the structure of the portfolio.    

You will have excellent leadership skills and experience and will join the senior team of Associate Directors in Registry and Academic Affairs. You will be able to anticipate forces which shape student expectations and to design new approaches to assessment services.

These are permanent, full-time roles (36.25 hours); however, applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work less than full time (minimum 29 hours per week).
