Applications are invited for the above post based in the School of Medicine’s Research and Knowledge Exchange (RKE) Services Team at the Medical School, Queen’s Medical Centre.   

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team supporting excellence in research and knowledge exchange for the School of Medicine. In a Maternity Cover role, you will continue some of the activities of the role holder whilst taking on a standalone project relating to Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2028 preparedness.   

Applicants must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant scientific field and/or have significant hands-on experience in a research strategy or related role. Ideal candidates will have experience of the development of research strategy and some knowledge of research assessment exercises.  Previous experience of REF, provision of research support, and an understanding of best practice for research culture is desirable but not essential.  Applicants must have the ability to work effectively as a member of a team, have excellent oral and written communication skills and experience of engaging, influencing, communicating and negotiating with diverse stakeholders.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract for 1 year (12 months). Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week) ; however applications are also welcome from candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 29 hours per week). Please specify in your application if you wish to work part time and the number of preferred hours.
