Salary: £32,348 to £34,308 with progression to £42,155 per annum

This role leads the design, development, implementation, and on-going support of one or more major modules of the University’s ERP business systems, in line with the strategic requirements of the University, while providing specialist expertise to business stakeholders and technical teams to convert software requirements into technical solutions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with business and technology leads across the University, and with other stakeholders, providing specialist technical knowledge to establish requirements and manage the design, development and successful implementation of ERP systems and modules. Produce technical specs, process documentation, test plans and manage go-lives. 
  • Produce innovative solutions, translating these into technical requirements, to maximise service quality, efficiency and continuity. documenting processes and coordinating system and user acceptance testing
  • Configure and test solutions in SAP and other applications to deliver new and improved services and ensure they perform as intended and required by the business while reducing any risk to existing services to acceptable levels.    
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with stakeholders in order to design, develop, deliver and maintain effective business solutions. Provide specialist advice about system functionality and support stakeholders in the effective use of the systems. 
  • Act as an SAP subject matter expert and use this knowledge to deliver excellence in operational support, project and change delivery and help in defining the future SAP strategy.  Ensure SAP issues are escalated effectively where needed whether they be related to support, change or project delivery
  • Understand the Technology Roadmap and assist in its implementation as directed
  • Deliver any project or change related activity as part of wider NUIT or NU project teams as required
  • Ensure that policies, standards, procedures and guidelines are followed
  • Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post, as allocated by the line manager

The Person

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

  • Technical background in the SAP technologies used by NUIT
  • Experience in delivering SAP development and configuration services to a dispersed customer base in multiple locations
  • Experience in business analysis to gather customer requirements and turn them into actionable configuration documentation
  • Experience in working with third-party vendors and delivering an effective SAP service using their services
  • Able to demonstrate a focus on customer needs 
  • Working knowledge of Cybersecurity processes and practices is essential

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in computing science or related subject or equivalent experience
  • A relevant technical qualification or equivalent technical experience
