The School of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Digital Learning Officer who will provide support and development for e-learning and oversee best practice within the School of the university’s virtual learning environment and other digital platforms.
Applicants must demonstrate knowledge and experience of supporting and developing Virtual Learning Environments and e-learning resources. They will be a proficient user and trainer in a range of digital learning assets used to support learning. They will need to demonstrate proven communication and interpersonal skills with a range of colleagues.
We are looking for someone to:
- Provide support to academic colleagues in the use and development of e-learning
- Work with the Digital Learning Manager to organise and develop best practice in the School’s use of Moodle, e-portfolios, e-learning development (Articulate) and other platforms
- Contribute to the design and development of e-learning content and other digital solutions
- Provide training and inductions for staff and students
- Contribute to the activities of the wider School of Life Sciences Student Experience team
The successful candidate needs to demonstrate experience of successful team and collaborative working, and good knowledge and application of digital learning tools and virtual learning environments.
Experience in working in higher education and/or a higher level qualification in education or learning technologies is desirable but not essential.
This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours).
The University of Nottingham supports hybrid working with arrangements agreed locally. In practice this means the team balances the working week with some time spent on campus and some time spent working from home to support flexibility, recognising that individuals and teams can be effective given the choice of environment.
