YOUR TEAM
You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where physicists, chemists, surface scientists, materials scientist, biologist, biotechnologist, electrical and biomedical engineers collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The “Smart Bio-Interfaces” Research Line at CMI, coordinated by Prof. Gianni Ciofani, focuses on the development and exploitation of physically-active nanoparticles and nanostructured materials, able to provide appropriate instructive cues to cells and tissues; at the same time, particular attention is dedicated to application of nanomedical product in space medicine and biology in altered condition.
The selected candidate will be expected to develop and test on appropriate neuronal models antioxidant nanoparticles to counteract oxidative stress in microgravity conditions.
Both junior and experienced (up to 5 years of post-doctoral experience) candidates will be considered for the position.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- A PhD in Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Physics, or related fields
- Experience with in vitro cell cultures is mandatory
- Experience in nanoparticles synthesis/characterization is mandatory
- A strong publication record (in relation to the academic age of the candidate)
- High level of English, both spoken and written, is an essential requirement
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Experience with space-related investigations will be highly appreciated
- Good communication skills
- Strong problem-solving attitude
- Strong motivation to have experiences in international lab, and in particular, if necessary, to spend time at the integration sites of space agencies
- High motivation to learn
- Spirit of innovation and creativity
- Good in time and priority management
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
