Lecturer Grade F: £39,347 to £44,263 per annum

Lecturer Grade G: £45,585 to £54,395 per annum

Senior Lecturer: £56,021 to £59,421 per annum

The Role
 
The School of Computing invites applications for multiple Lectureship and Senior Lectureship opportunities. 
 
Come and join us here in our Urban Science Building based in the Newcastle Helix.
 
We are keen to hear from applicants who have experience in the delivery and administration of teaching in a Higher Education environment and a proven track record of research.  We are looking for academics at all stages of their career, from early career looking for your first opportunity to experienced Lecturers, who can lead and shape our growing school.

We encourage applications from all areas of computer science. However, having expertise in research and teaching in one or more of the following areas would be desirable: 
 
●    Engineering Biology, Laboratory Automation including AI or Neuroinformatics
●    Computer Graphics and/or real-time 3D Simulations
●    Computing Education – learning analytics, technical design biases, critical and disruptive pedagogies in Computing
●    Data Visualization
●    Distributed systems and Internet of Things (IoT)
●    Formal methods, model checking and verification
●    Human-Computer Interaction: with an emphasis on Interaction Design and/or Community Technologies
●    Quantum computing
●    Cyber Security, with an emphasis on cross-disciplinary application domains, such as AI, HCI or Cyber Physical System
●    Scalable Data Engineering and AI systems

Using our online application form, please complete only the mandatory fields and upload the following documents by Sunday 22 October 2023
•    An up to date CV/resume
•    A letter of application that includes (in one document) a list of up to 3 papers representing your most significant personal contributions and impact, a one-page research proposal to indicate how your research plans fit with our research strategy and a one-page statement on your approach to teaching and how you believe you can contribute to the teaching programme at undergraduate and postgraduate level.  This should be uploaded as one document in the ‘cover letter’ field in the online application form.

What happens next?
 
We will be shortlisting during week commencing Monday 30 October 2023 with invitations to interview being sent by the end of that week.  

Our assessment process will consist of online teaching and research presentations during week commencing Monday 13 November 2023 for shortlisted applicants. Any applicants that are selected for interview after the presentations, will be invited to either an in person or online interview during week commencing Monday 4 December 2023.
